Route in brief
47km, 600m climb, some lovely views.

From the ferry at Brodick go
right along to the edge of the bay at the first shop on the right go left
here and keep climbing forking right uphill after 150m. The road becomes a track that leads most of
the way to the summit of the
Lamlash road. Go about 800m along the main road toward Lamlash
turning into the forest on the right and keeping left onto a track that runs parallel to the main road
down to Lamlash

Turn off the main road at the hairpin bend at Monamore bridge on to the Ross road. Turn left after 1/2
km into the forest. At this point there is a forest walk which is quite entertaining to the right of the
forest track.
Keep right after 5km and then keep left after another 5km, 300m left again, another left in 300m and
descend to the main road. Refreshments are available at Lagg hotel or tearoom. Use the main road to
Whiting bay with a detour to Kildonan if desired, giving an additional 120m of climb. At Whiting Bay

go over Glenashdale Glen bridge along the front. In 300m go steeply up left on a narrow tarmac
road.Go right at the crossroads heading north on flatter tarmac.
At the end of the road a track leads
over the burn to link with another track toward Knockenkelly beyond it is a track up left into the
forest (easy to miss). Climb up it looking for singletrack on the right into the wood before you get to
the main track.
Enjoy the singletrack to a minor track. There is more singletrack in the area of Lag an
Daer off this minor track (I failed to see it).
Return to Lamlash by the reverse route. Climb out of Lamlash on the track beside the A841 and at the
forest walks at the top of the climb turn off to the right and follow the footpath over Claughland Hills.
From the top continue east to the edge of the forest and turn left toward Brodick and the start.
