Stewarton and Dundonald

Start at Dalry railway station or across the
road at Dales of Dalry car park.
Go right out of the station and the left after
Blair to join the B707 continuing onto the
B778 to Stewarton. Coffee can be had in the
Coffee Pot café in Stewarton.
After coffee leaving Stewarton go right (west) at the roundabout then
fork left just after the bridge and in 2 km at the bottom of the first hill go
left past Chapleton cross the B769 and into Kilmaurs. The Grapevine
café is nice for a snack if you missed out at Stewarton.

Head west toward Cunninghamhead but go left after 1.5km down to
Knockentiber then Crosshouse. Go south out of Crosshouse on the
B751 but turn right in 200m on a minor road to Laigh Milton Mill and
then left to Gatehead.
One kilometre south of Gatehead take the B7591 to Symington turning
right in the village down to Burnbrae farm and over the hill directly to
Dundonald.
There are a number of lunch stop options at Dundonald,
there is a tea and biscuit café at the castle visitor centre,
a tearoom at Frazers garden centre immediately across
the A759 on the right and a café half a kilometre further
on the left at the industrial area on the B730 which is on
route.

Continue through Drybridge  over the river Irvine and
turn right after going below the A71. At the A71
roundabout go left uphill to the B7081 going straight
across down to a roundabout with only one exit and then
go right in 200m toward Perceton going right then
immediately left into Perceton (MR354402).
At the bottom of the hill go left and then in 100m right into a no through road at the top of the hill
at a barrier go straight across the road past a pub on the left, the road becomes a track and in
300m go right then fork right at MR343413 before Sourlie roundabout going left in half a km to
cross the A736 onto the B785, past Benslie leaving the B road to cross Lugton water at
Burrowland and the B778 at MR 330454.
Return to Dalry past cleaves cove and Blair estate.
