Greenan Castle
The routes starts from the car park opposite the church in
Mossblown at MR408243
There is a 2km stretch on the A713 north of Patna and
2.5km on the A719 south of Ayr.
On the black route a coffee stop can be made in Maybole
in the Chaterbox café on the main street.
Cycling into the south of Ayr is along the sustrans track
along the sea front rightv up to the river Ayr where you
have to go right along the river, cross the river and the
road at the first bridge.
The last part of the route follows the river Ayr upstream
below the A77 along another cycle track back to
Mossblown, if you cross the river (busy road at near the
town centre) and stay right beside the river on the north
bank, then follow the cycleway signs the route is easy to
follow out of Ayr.

Kirkmichael church
The red route is a higher route with good views and very quite lanes. Into the west side of Coylton,
along the lanes toward south Ayr but then beside the railway at MR 356177 to Dalrymple and the
hill road to Kirkmichael marked by the cycle byway signs. A further loop along the B7045 to
Straiton and a return to Kirkmichael by a lane just west of Blairquhan.Continue east toward Patna
but off north on the hill road at Dalvennan and past Glastron. Bypass Dalrymple onto the B742 and
then off right onto the lane south of Martnaham loch, going right toward Drongan but then left to
Low Coylton, Hillhead and the B742to Mossblown.
