Maybole, Barr and Straiton

Park at Maybole rail station, from here you need to find the Dailly road on the other side of the A77.
Go right uphill from the station and almost immediately left. Keep straight ahead past a crossroads
beside the green and then passs a road to the left.
In 50 m the road turns left then to a crossroads where you go right leading in 100m to the main
Go straight over the main road, downhill past a church on a left bend (high up behind a wall) and
continue out of town on the old Dailly road to Dailly (10km).
Go through Dailly to the south minor road then along the B734 to Barr.
If you arrive after the hotel is open you can treat yourself to luxury lunch, otherwise it’s a picnic
by the river.
Climb out of Barr east to South Balloch (MR329955) then north over White Scaurins (337m)
descending and turning right past Kikbride (MR338038) to Straiton.
If you are looking for some refreshment in Straiton there is a choice of the Black Bull Inn or the
tea room opposite.
From Straiton follow the B7045 through Kirkmichael forking left back to Maybole.
In Maybole go first right away from the main road and up to the railway station.
