Description
From the car park at the south end of Dean Park
head north in the park past Dean Castle.
Cross the burn by the footbridge behind the
castle turning left up the path beside the burn.
In 300m you will come to a minor road follow
this up to the right. Stay on this road past a right
turn (1km) and go right at the next.
This leads over the dual carriageway and you
need to fork left along a rough track to avoid the
private grounds of Craufurdland.
Follow this track which bends right (1km) and
comes to a T junction at which you should go
left, passing the fishery in 250m and then
reaching a minor road at the gates.
Go right 1/2km down to a bridge and
immediately beyond the bridge go over a stile on
the right into the trees on the stream bank.
This footpath can be a little faint and misleading but roughly follows the line of the stream back to a
minor road at GR452402, go right at this road down to the ford, under the dual carriageway and left
at the junction to return the way you came.
