singletrack, at the crossing of tracks go

investigate but you should end up at
MR410229. Go right over the river and
immediately left on a muddy trail. Stick

sections some fences, streams and a
steep bank before arriving at a mine

Explore the mine area then leave climb out to the road left and left again down to Stair Inn for a
refreshment.
From Stair Inn go east turning off toward Stairhill leaving the concrete track at some trees

Go through Failford and just before the railbridge go left, this looks like a driveway but leads into
the Ayr walk.
Keep straight, descend steeply to the river and follow it, fork left to view Pedens Pulpit and right
to continue the route, climb steeply and go left at the large tree, again following high above the
river which is still on your left.
In 250m keep right (high) and follow the good track eventually turning left down to a gate on
your right, heading west along the narrow track eventually to the Stair road, go right and in 150m
left.
At a corner in 1km go left through a gate to Enterkine Millhouse, pass the converted mill, go
through the farm and out to the B742, going left 100m leaving the road through a gate on the right
following the track back up to Annbank to return the way you came.
There are some variations on the route back which are worth investigating.
