Route in brief
9km, 200m climb, 300m downhill push, valley views
Interest - Lethanhill memorial, waterside industrial heritage.
Park at Lethanhill off the A713 just before Patna. The track is along old mine working rail lines
and is undemanding. After about 3km descend from the mine workings to a ruin (Burnhead).
behind the ruin locate the faint track that crosses the burn and goes down hill. This part is rough
and is part walk. Stay above Waterside on the higher track until the old works managers house.
Descend through rhododendrons to the old track just below the house. Follow this pleasantly
along the side of the hill to the road up to lethanhill.
