Downhill mountain biking Caldron hill
Caldron hill is easiest ascended from
Fairlie moor top cattle grid where a faint
path leads up to the south east summit of
the hill and is a push. It is also possible to
leave the summit north along the ridge
coming off the hill at a shallow dip and
following the posts to the south side of
Glentane where the north Glentane
downhill track can be taken back to the
Moor road.
Caldron hill east is 75m descent in 0.5km
Glentane north is 90m descent in 0.7km
although going off the north side of
Caldron to Glentane gives an additional
50m of descent along Caldron ridge.
Glentane south is 110m descent in 0.8km.
