Parking at Tam O' Shanter

Go out and left then first left past
Old Brig O Doon past the old mill
now flats to the riverside going
left and then taking the higher
track after the sluices at the weir.
Right at tarmac and when the road
bends right go through the metal
gate and across the track in the
field
and keeping left away from the
cottage on to the A77 (pavement).
Cycle up to Barrmill and along the
soft track to Carcluie farm (fence
crossing midway) then down to
Dalrymple on the B7034.
Go right in Dalrymple to the
bridge on the Doon and onto the
riverside trail before the bridge on
the left.
Follow the riverside trail below

going left and through the first gate

on the right across to a stile and little footbridge over the laid and on past Skeldon mills and up to the
B7034. Turn left and then down past Balgreen and to Malcolmston. On the A713 go left for a kilometre
and fork off onto the minor road then right onto a rough track, cross the A713 along along the
pleasant minor road south of Martnaham out to the B742 and down to Coylton on the twisty back
road past Highpark and Laighpark farm. Leave Coylton on the minor road north and down a track past
Milncraig up to the five way crossroads at MR393207, north past Barclaugh to Tarholm and right
along the riverside. Keep to the river passing a mill by the waterside (MR408224) eventually having to
climb up to a firmer track by the east of Annbank. In 300m go left up to Annbank cross the road left
and then down to a burn turning left to the river Ayr, following it to Auchincruive and out to the road
at Oswald bridge, and right to the cycle track to Ayr. There is a little track in  the trees on the right.
Follow the signs for Ayr going below the very busy A77 and keeping to the same river bank into Ayr
College.
Go under the road and rail bridges and cross the river at the footbridge then right by the riverside to
the Old Parish Church left, through the chuch gate out to Main Street, right to the traffic lights
crossing to Loudoun hall by the pedestrian crossing and continue down the waterside past the citadel
walls to the shore road going left at the shore following the road. At the round about go left to the
traffic lights and right along the A719 at end of the golf course there is a gate into Belleisle and a single
track parallel to the main road. Continue out of the far end of Belleisle going left. In 250m go right at a
gatehouse and climb a little stay high and exit onto the B7024 going right back to the start..
