Dailly Windfarm
23km and 400m climb
Park in Dailly village centre, Tilly's tea room offers the chance of tea and cake before the hard work
begins. From the village square go west 200m and just before the bridge leave the road right along
the riverside on a small track.
Cross the river by an unusual footbridge and follow the riverside around to the ruined castle.
Pass the castle along an line of trees following the muddy path through rhododendron to
Dalquaharran Castle ruin then out its drive to the road, go left following the B741 toward Girvan but
in 400m fork off right onto a minor road. In 500m fork left onto a rough road along past Kilgramme,
rejoining the B741 at Low Craighead turning right, in 1km go left to old Dailly.
At Old Dailly climb up the B734 toward Barr but in 1km fork off right toward Pinmore.
In 4km at MR 227955 there is a track up the field to the windfarm, this track is easy to miss as it is
over your left shoulder diagonally upwards, 300m beyond High troweir road end.
At the main windfarm road go left following the main tack round to the B734.
At the B734 go left 300m then right onto the next section of windfarm road, in 250m ignore a track
off to the right and in 500m take the track climbing away from the loch. From here simply follow
the main track out to the minor road.
At the minor road go left 3km down to Lindsayston taking the track just before the farm down to a
woodland, climb a little way and there is a stile on the right into the wood, go that way and if the
track is in good condition enjoy some singletrack on route down to Dailly.
