pass Mauchline burns
monument, joining the
A76 just north of

interest is Mossgeiel
farm and then the
Tarbolton got to by
the Failford turn and
the minor road right
The B744 east from Tarbolton and right past Lochlea (MR 454301) right to Carnell
on the A719 and right into Kilmarnock and back to Kay Park.

To get started from Kay park monument go north with the steep slope on your left to
the road, right downhill to the roundabout right past the cemetery gates and left onto
McKenzie Dr, follow straight ahead along MacPhail Dr and Milton Rd over the
motorway by a footbridge.
Near the end enter south Kilmarnock uphill onto Treeswoodhead Rd and follow it
downhill then up to a right bend onto Witchknowe Rd along to a T juction and left
down to the busy Hurlford Rd. Go straight over slightly left to New St, follow it left to
a T junction, going right down hill below the motorway, cross the main Ayr road
into Greeholm St and left onto Holmquarry Rd.
Cross the river by a footbridge and go right along Fairyhill Rd.
Follow beside the river into the park, crossing busy West Shaw St.
Go right across the river at the second footbridge onto Douglas St right then left onto
Armour St then right onto quieter Gilmour St.
Cross the busy Old Mill Rd by the toucan crossing onto Loanhead St up past the Dick
Institute cross London Rd into Holehouse Rd past Kilmarnock College and fork left
below the railway back into Kay Park, going left uphill to the Burns monument and the
