Ayr to Dailly road cycle
Distance 36km, 250m climb
Park at the south end of Ayr close to
Tam O Shanter experience (MR334180).
From there go back to alloway and just
before Burns Cottage go right out to the
A77 cross it slightly right.
Go right before the railway along to the
B7034 and then down to Dalrymple go
right over the river Doon and straight on
at the minor road marked as a cycle
byway. Go over Guiltree hill and down to
Leaving Kirkmichael to the south take the
first minor road signed for Crosshill and
at Crosshill to Dailly on the B741.
Tillys tea room in Dailly is a pleasant
place to take lunch and in it you can pick
up a leaflet describing a number of walks
in the area.
Leave Dailly by the B741 north but at the T junction go right along the minor road to Maybole and
then the B7024 to Ayr, alternately take the Sustrans route 7 over the Carrick hills to Ayr (hilly).
